One Spirit, two celebrations: Vodacom SA’s year-end weekend of magic
Vodacom South Africa wrapped up an exceptional year with a weekend that truly lived up to our One Spirit. On 1 and 2 November, Vodacommers and their families came together for two memorable events – a night of music and celebration followed by a day of family fun.
Saturday night lights: concert at SunBet Arena
Over 1 300 Vodacommers and their partners packed the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Saturday 1 November. The dress code was Concert Cool, and the venue buzzed with anticipation as colleagues who work hard together prepared to celebrate even harder.
Sitho Mdlalose, CEO of Vodacom South Africa, opened the evening by celebrating what the team achieved together in 2025. It was a fitting start to a night dedicated to recognising the dedication and excellence that defines our culture.
Then the stage came alive. Jason Goliath had everyone in stitches, setting a tone of pure joy. Mi Casa got the crowd moving with their signature sound. Kamo ramped things up, bringing fresh energy to the room. The Sophiatown Jazz Orchestra brought elegance and soul, reminding us that good music transcends genre. DJ Rene kept the momentum going with tracks that had everyone on their feet. And our very own Mood Engineer, Lebo Mokena, held it all together as MC.
When the performances wrapped, the dancefloor opened – and Vodacommers didn’t hold back. The night belonged to everyone who showed up ready to celebrate.
Sunday fun day: Family Day at Gold Reef City
The following day, Vodacom took over Gold Reef City – the entire theme park, which typically hosts up to 14 000 guests – exclusively for employees and their families.
Unlimited rides, attractions and entertainment meant everyone could choose their own adventure. Kids under 13 got branded bucket hats to beat the heat, while food stations throughout the park kept everyone fuelled for a full day of fun.
Rollercoasters, candyfloss, laughter and quality time with the people who matter most – colleagues became friends, and families made memories together.
From rollercoasters to candyfloss, the day was a reminder of the joy that comes from sharing experiences with loved ones and colleagues alike.
A big thank you
None of this happens without serious teamwork behind the scenes. The VSA CEO Office, our Events Team and all our suppliers put in the hours and attention to detail to make this weekend happen smoothly.
And to every Vodacommer who joined us: thank you for showing up, bringing the energy and making it all worthwhile. These moments remind us why we do what we do.
Here’s to an even brighter 2026!
