Welcome to the final edition of One Spirit for 2025, your quarterly digital magazine connecting Vodacom Group employees across all our African markets.

In this edition, we look back on an extraordinary year. From Cape to Cairo, 2025 brought breakthrough after breakthrough as we transitioned into Vision 2030. Here are the milestones, firsts and transformative moments that shaped our year.

Take the Grand Egyptian Museum. When it opened on 1 November at the foot of the Pyramids, the world witnessed something spectacular – and behind that magnificent façade beats a smart digital heart built by Vodafone Egypt. It’s the kind of project that reminds us what’s possible when technology meets ambition.

In South Africa, nearly half a million hearts raced as the Springbok Women made history at the World Cup. Vodacom’s landmark partnership with SA Rugby isn’t just about sponsorship – it’s about building the infrastructure that makes these breakthrough moments possible, on and off the field.

Connecting for a better future means more than commercial success. Through our Foundations, we’re transforming lives across Africa – from digital education and healthcare to economic empowerment of youth, women and people with disabilities. We believe that when we grow and succeed, the communities that support us should thrive right alongside us. Inside, you’ll discover some of the key initiatives that brought this belief to life in 2025.

None of these achievements would exist without you, our people. At this year’s CEO Awards, we honoured our top performers – the innovators and volunteers, the cross-market teams and digital pioneers whose work shows us what’s possible when purpose meets performance. Your dedication is what turns strategy into reality.

Before you dive in, a special word of thanks. The One Spirit publishing team is deeply grateful to Steve Chege, Group Chief External Affairs Officer at Safaricom, as he transitions into his new role. Steve has been a true champion of the One Spirit project from the beginning. His sharp intellect, enthusiasm and authentic passion for connecting our people across markets helped shape this magazine into what it is today. Steve, thank you for believing in the power of our shared story – and for inspiring us to tell it better. We wish you every success in your next chapter.

Happy reading!
