Vodacom Mozambique celebrated its 20th anniversary in stunning style on a night that came alive with the contagious energy of Mozambican culture.

At the 20th anniversary gala, which was livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube, the company welcomed members of the Mozambican state at the highest level, including President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, and thanked them for their distinguished presence.

It was in 2003 that Vodacom began its activities in Mozambique and from the start, it presented itself as a customer-oriented African institution that would change the communications paradigm in the country.

At the gala, President Nyusi praised Vodacom’s role in leveraging the national economy and developing human capital through corporate social investment.

He acknowledged the company’s contribution to education and financial inclusion, highlighting the creation of the M-Pesa mobile money service as a pivotal development.

“To realise the mission of leveraging the economy, we maintain the focus on expanding the network to ensure that more people have access to a quality telecommunications network, expanding opportunities for all. Thank you all for being connected to Vodacom.”
