Esther Waititu has carved a remarkable path to becoming the Chief Financial Services Officer at Safaricom, Kenya’s leading telecommunications company. Esther, who joined Safaricom in February 2023, is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to Safaricom’s Financial Services Business. She leads financial services tribes and teams, through the development of financial products, services and solutions for consumers and enterprises.
She has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector, including senior roles at KCB Bank Group, Stanbic, Standard Chartered Bank and the former Commercial Bank of Africa.
Esther holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool in the UK. She is also an AoEC-accredited Executive Coach.
